ELITE complete the Cardiff 10k run

On Sunday 1st September 2019, staff and friends of ELITE Supported Employment ran the Cardiff 10k race! Raising money for a defibrillator through Welsh Hearts, 13 runners ran on behalf of ELITE and Welsh Hearts with all completing the race! It had recently been brought to our attention that our office complex at Magden Park would benefit greatly from having a defibrillator installed. Despite our office only being a 5 minute drive to the Royal Glamorgan hospital, in life and death scenarios every second counts! Introducing Mitchell – the latest jobseeker to be featured on the ELITE Jobseeker Spotlight. The 25 year old from Aberdare in Rhondda Cynon Taff has been working at the Cynon Valley Museum since January 2018. ELITE Supported Employment are immensely proud to announce our latest charity partnership with Bridgend Ravens rugby. The Indigo Premiership club based at the Morganstone Brewery Field have long been supporters of ELITE’s message of enabling equality in employment and have kindly offered ELITE a partnership for the 2019/20 season. With the new season fast approaching, the Ravens invited ELITE staff members to the Morganstone Brewery Field for a tour of the facilities alongside the chance to meet some of the members of the Ravens squad and personnel. Jobseeker Spotlight: Brad

Say hello to Brad! Brad is one of our Engage to Change participants in the Newport area of South Wales. After leaving education, Brad wanted to find employment but struggled to cope with his various disabilities. He was recommended to ELITE and met with our team out in East Wales. Brad, from Llyswerry in Newport, showed promise early on demonstrating a willingness to work and a passion for physical tasks. Meet The Team: Amey

First up on the revamped edition of ELITE’s ‘Meet The Team’ is one of the newest members of the ELITE family – Amey! Amey joined ELITE in March 2019 forming part of the new JobSense project assisting people with visual and hearing impairments into work. The Employment Advisor has settled into her new job and has become an integral part of the project. Offering one-to-one support to jobseekers with impairments, Amey covers a wide area from Cardiff through to the English boarders in Wales. Asides from her main duties as an Employment Advisor, she also manages the JobSense Twitter page!

ELITE Supported Employment were recently announced as one of the winners of the Charity Bus Competition hosted by Edwards Coaches! The competition will see 10 local charities featured on the Edwards fleet for a 12-month period.
